Some ideas for a future show at the Villa Terrace. What about "room specific" pieces, e.g: teapots, goblets, eating utensils, etc, for the dining room; necklaces, rings, brooches, cuff links, tie tacks for the great hall (think dinner party); hand mirrors, hair combs for Mrs. Smith's bedroom vanity; clothing accessories (hats, gloves) for the dressing room. Could be fanciful and fun!!

I was thinking along this line also...I was even thinking of pushing it further by making the room's artwork "accessories" camouflage with the room....i.e. blue kitchen, blue utensils, plates, cups....showing the impact of the environment and objects that make up our daily life through (color, form, function)....This would be especially intriguing in the over-the-top ornate wallpapered room.

ReplyDeleteI really like this idea of yours. It would push the boundaries of what is a gallery vs. house. vs. an other living space. This idea would also tie together the whole space.
