Everyone seems to be leaning in the direction of having a loose theme as a way to unify the work instead of actual collaborations of specific pieces. This sounds good to me. Since our visit I have been thinking about ways in which a piece could both connect to objects in the house but also to the architecture and the surrounding environment--to the grandeur of the house and to the place in time that it recalls (to both when it was actually built and to the Italian Renaissance). My most vivid memory of the place is all the sunlight and the windows as well as the mish-mash of architectural styles/themes and so I feel strongly about making something in response to that. I do think, like Andrea mentioned, that perhaps thinking about an reception/show/installation might be a good way to bring us all together.
